Ginger Cardamom Hot Chocolate: Reason #543 We Love Life

We love chai. We love chocolate. Well, this warm and bright Ginger Cardamom Hot Chocolate from Cocoa Santé is the best of both. Inspired by Kashmiri kahwah, a green tea infused with aromatic spices, Cocoa Santé laces organic cocoa powder with cinnamon, spicy ginger, cardamom, allspice and clove (no tea here), then sweetens it with a touch of cane sugar. Yes, please.

Jen and Shannon, self-proclaimed “professional mothers” and founders of Cocoa Santé, were having trouble finding the right treats that fit their dietary philosophy: everything, including fat and sugar, in moderation! Jen turned her attention to hot cocoa, testing recipes and experimenting with ingredients until she hit a perfect blend. Once Cocoa Santé was born, they researched the best packaging for instant cocoa to satisfy large families (big tins) and individuals (one-serving pouches).

Cocoa Santé sources organic cacao from co-op farms owned by small-scale farmers in the Dominican Republic and South America. Each blend is sweetened with organic cane sugar and finished with nonfat milk powder.
