This Pasta Recipe Is Totally Forked Up

Meet Val Cordero, the @ForkedUpFoodie! Val is an awesome food blogger – she takes extremely #MOUTHwatering food pictures and shares them with almost 15,000 followers on Instagram. Not only does she love exploring and finding the best things to eat in New York City and beyond, she also loves to cook. This month, Val took some of her favorite Mouth products and made a pretty indie-credible pasta dish.

“Got an awesome package from @mouthfoods with all the essentials to make an amazing pasta dish. Package included pasta from Baia Pasta & sauce from City Saucery. It's like going shopping, but you literally don't have to leave your house & interact with people. 🍝💯”

We took one look at her photo knew it would be im-pasta-ble not to try this out for ourselves.

Forked Up Foodie’s Pasta And Meatballs

1 box Baia Paccheri Pasta
2 jars Nonna’s Spicy Sauce by City Saucery
1pound ground beef
½ teaspoon salt
1 small onion, diced
1½ teaspoons Goya Adobo Seasoning (you can also use Italian seasoning)
1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
1½ tablespoons basil, chopped (you can also use parsley)
1 cup canola oil

  1. Boil a pot of water and follow the directions on the box of pasta.
  2. Open jars of tomato sauce and pour into a large sauce pot on low heat.
  3. While the pasta cooks and the sauce heats up, start making your meatballs.
  4. Mix ground beef, salt, onion, seasoning, Parmesan and basil in a large bowl to prep your meatballs.
  5. Use an ice-cream scoop or a ¼ cup measure to scoop out meat mixture and form balls.
  6. Heat up canola oil until it’s looks like it’s rippling.
  7. Place your meatballs into the oil and brown on all sides (about 2 minutes on each side).
  8. The meatballs should be nice and brown before taking them out.
  9. Once the meatballs are browned, place directly into the sauce.
  10. Cover and cook for 1 hour over low heat or until meatballs are tender.
  11. Serve pasta in a large serving bowl or platter and place meatballs on top along with the sauce.
  12. Garnish with any extra basil leaves and grate some Parmesan cheese on top.
